The historic Nagdandi Ashram in Achabal on Thursday witnessed fervent celebrations as the Kashmiri Pandit community gathered in large numbers to observe Ram Navami, reaffirming the region’s enduring spirit of cultural and religious harmony.
Devotees thronged the revered ashram from across the valley, participating in traditional prayers, rituals, and the singing of devotional hymns that resonated through the premises, reviving the age-old religious traditions of the community.
In a gesture underscoring the administration’s commitment to fostering communal amity, Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, accompanied by a team of senior district officers, visited the ashram to extend warm greetings to the community on the auspicious occasion.
Interacting with the devotees, the Deputy Commissioner described the Nagdandi Ashram as a timeless symbol of the region’s syncretic heritage.

The officials also conducted a firsthand review of the arrangements at the venue, ensuring that all necessary facilities, including security, sanitation, and civic amenities, were in place for the smooth conduct of the celebrations.
