Day-long workshop 'Introduction to Youth Empowerment and Skill Development' organised in SKUAST-K

Srinagar April 28 (KNS):  As part of its initiative to empower youth, the Department of Students Welfare organized one day workshop on “Introduction to Youth empowerment and skill development on 28 April 2023 at the Conference hall of the Vice-0Chancellor’s Secretariat.


The aim of the workshop was to equip students with life skills which are vital to effectively tackle the challenges of 21st century and to bring attitudinal and behavioral change.In his message, Hon’ble Vice- Chancellor Prof. N.A.Ganai congratualed organisers for this initiative as these types of workshops empower students with soft skill such as interpersonal relations, decision making, time management, team skills, communication and leadership, which raises the employability factor.

Programme was attended by Director Education & Dean Students Welfare Prof. M.A.A. Siddique, Medical Officer Dr. Parvaiz , Students Welfare Officers HQ &COAE&T Dr. Seemi Lohani , Dr. Md. Muzamil and students of faculty of Horticulture. 

During the Welcome address, Prof. Siddique highlighted the importance of stress management through identifying stressors to reduce the negative impact of stress. He has also stressed the need to undertake regular exercise , practice mindfulness, connecting with others, practice relaxation techniques  and manage time for effective relief from stress among our gen-next, so that they are more creative, efficient, confident, clear minded, stress –free, joyful and energetic. Ms. Vandana Daftari, Regional Director Art of Living Youth Program was the lead Speaker of the workshop.

She deliberated upon the importance of Skill knowledge and also advised students to work on 3Cs that is Concentration, Confidence and Clarity of mind. The programme was organized and moderated by the Students Welfare Officer (HQ) Dr. Seemi Lohani. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Md. Muzamil.(KNS)
