Customers aghast as J&K Bank mobile app goes down

Srinagar, Mar 25 (KNS): Several Jammu and Kashmir Bank Ltd. customers on Saturday faced inconvenience after mobile banking services including mpay went down for hours.


The customers expressed resentment over frequent breakdowns, and appealed to higher authorities to take long lasting measures for the convenience of customers.

“I had to transfer money to my son who is studying in a Mumbai college. But unfortunately I couldn’t as mpay like services were shut since morning,” Basharat Ahmad Dar of Srinagar told KNS.

Expressing his anger, Bhat said “It has become a routine for J&K Bank who doesn’t bother to streamline the services”.

“I had purchased some stuff online few days back which was scheduled to be delivered on Saturday. I got embarrassed when I couldn’t pay amount to the company online. I logged in my account several times but of no avail,” Tariq Nabi a student from central Kashmir’s Budgam said.

Besides several shopkeepers in the city also complained of breakdown of mpay and appealed to bank authorities to streamline the services. They said in the age of cashless it is imperative to make the services streamline and hassle-free.

A senior official of the J&K Bank Ltd. Muzaffar Ahmad told KNS that it was a brief interruption and the service has been restored now.

“It was a brief interruption due to internet breakdown. The service has been restored now,” Muzaffar Ahmad said. (KNS)
