Cultural, Art & Food festival aimed to highlight culture, promote talent held in Panzgam

Kupwara, Oct 30 (KNS): To celebrate National Unity Day with free spirit of Kashmiriyat, Sufism and sense of jubilance, a Cultural, Art & Food festival aimed to highlight culture and promote talent was organised in Panzgam area of Kupwara district on Sunday. 


During the event a series of activities were performed by several groups of artists and singers to entertain and enthral the audience. 

According to a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), various performances including dance and music to showcase the talent of locals and children were organised.

The statement reads that Sufi songs and Kashmiri Chakri brightened the environment and enthralled the crowd. The event also provided a platform to students to showcase their talent and enhanced their confidence.

The event was aimed to highlight the heritage and culture of Kupwara by promoting the local talent of the area. 

It witnessed by a record turnout of local population of over 3000 people who enjoyed the melodion numbers presented by renowned artists of Kashmir that include Aadil Rashid, Danish Ahmed and rapper Shaddy & Mudassir. 

The Kashmiri traditional dance “Rouff”, “Pahadi Gatka and “Bhangra” were also performed during the event.

Various stalls of goverment department jobs were also placed with the collaboration of District Administration including stall from department of Social Welfare, Handcrafts, employment and counselling centre, District Industries, Ex Servicemen, Agniveer Scheme by Indian Army. 

Youth of this far flung area got an opportunity to speak to these departments directly and got to know about employment schemes. Famous local food stalls were also placed for the audience and different sports activities were also conducted for the people who came to enjoy the event.

This spectacular event was graced by dignitaries from various levels including public representatives of district and block level including DDC Kralpora, Adv Masrat Jan and officials from district administration.

Prominent achievers of Kupwara district including Mushtaq Ahmed Khoja, a theatre artist from Drugmulla, Mohd Deewana, a renowned Pahari and Gojari folk singer from Tangdhar, Fayaz Hameed, Journalist from Kupwara, Choudhary Mushtaq a social worker from Warsun and Reyaz Ahmed Lone Instructor at food craft institute, Jammu were also felicitated on the occasion.

Miss Rukiya of Dardpora was also presented with a cheque of Rs 10,000 for her preparation of civil services. Skill centre of Dardpura D was also presented with Cheque of 1.5 lac by Max Life Insurance. 

Faizal Choudhary an emerging cricketer from Warsun was also presented a cricket kit. 

Meanwhile, locals appreciated the Indian Army for conducting this festival and providing a platform to the local hidden talent and also the employment opportunities for the youth. (KNS)
