Crucial All-Party Meeting on J&K begins at PM's residence in New Delhi

Srinagar, June 24 (KNS): The crucial all-party meeting on Jammu and Kashmir, being chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in New Delhi has begun to deliberate on various issued vis-a-vis Jammu and Kashmir. 

 

Sources informed Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the meeting has begun as all the leaders from Jammu and Kashmir have arrived at PM's residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg in New Delhi. 

 

Earlier, J&K leaders including NC president Farooq Abdullah, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad and others were invited to the all-party meeting in New Delhi. 

 

According to sources, the leaders People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) will demand restoration of Article 370 and 35A at the meeting with PM Modi today. "They will also demand restoration of statehood and immediate elections." 

 

Meanwhile, as per reports, just before arriving at PM's residence, Farooq Abdullah said, "I am going to the meeting. I will keep the demands there and then I will talk to you. Mehbooba Mufti is the president of her party, why should I speak on what she said." 

 

Notably, Mehbooba Mufti's has said that she will raise the issue of the release of prisoners, confidence-building measures and dialogue with Pakistan.  

 

Meanwhile, J&K BJP is demanding the return of Kashmiri Pandits to Kashmir.

 

Earlier, ahead of the all-party meeting, the Congress leaders from J&K met senior Congress leader and former chief minister of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, Ghulam Nabi Azad at his residence in Delhi.

 

Sources informed had said that J&K Congress leaders including JKPCC chief Ghulam Ahmad Mir met senior Congress leader, Ghulam Nabi Azad at his resident ahead of the all-party meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. (KNS)
