CRPF's AMITY SPORTS CLUB event Concludes at Srinagar

 Srinagar, Oct 31 (KNS) : Central Reserve Police force (CRPF 54-BN), in collaboration with Intizamia committees constituted a sports club named AMITY SPORTS CLUB and hosted 3 days Volleyball tournament which was organized from 28th-31st of October. 


In the tournament total 10 teams of Brein and Harwan area participated. The final was heldon 31st of October between block Mufti Bagh team 1 and Srinagar Spartan. In a closely contested match Srinagar Spartans won. 

The idea to form a club and host such a sports tournament was conceptualized by IG, CRPF, Srinagar Sector to promote brotherhood and encourage youngsters to showcase their talent and to foster a career in sports. The initiative received overwhelming response from the locals. 

The youth came across as enthusiastic for more such events. Shri. Mathew A. John, DIG, Srinagar (South) Range, CRPF, the chief guest distributed prizes to the teams. 

In his address to the gathering he emphasized for more such tournaments and praised local people for their overwhelming response for the initiative of Srinagar Sector, CRPF. Shri. P.K. Sandwar, Commandant 54 Bn thanked the chief guests, Sh. Sahil Sarangal, IPS (SP East), DDC chairman, prominent leaders, Intizamia Committees and all the people who attended and witnessed the final match. Shri. S.K. Savita, 2-1/C, Shri. O.P. Tiwari, 2-I/C, Shri. R.K. Mishra, AC, Shri. Geegraj, AC of 54 Bn CRPF and Iftikhar Hussain, Manzoor Ahmad, who were instrumental in successful tournament were also present on the occasion.(KNS).
