Police seeks public cooperation to mitigate spread of virus

SRINAGAR May 14 (KNS): Since the outbreak of 2nd wave of Coronavirus, J&K Police has enhanced its efforts to sensitise the masses about controlling the highly contagious Coronavirus. A slew of measures including restrictions u/s 144 have been put into place to contain the spread of Covid-19.

In view of the record surge in daily cases across the Kashmir Valley, Police also enhanced the efforts to implement the Covid-19 guidelines/SOPs/restrictions strictly throughout the valley. During last 24hrs, Police has arrested 121 persons, lodged 74 FIRs and also realized fine to the tune of ?56,210/- from 407 people for violating the guidelines/rules throughout Kashmir valley.

To ensure strict implementation of Corona Curfew and adhering of guidelines issued by Govt in view of Covid19 Pandemic, today SSP Bandipora Mohammad Zahid-JKPS accompanied by DySP Hqrs Bandipora and other officers visited various places/markets of Bandipora and reviewed law & order, security forces deployment arrangements.

The special drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines/rules continued throughout all the districts of Kashmir Valley to ensure that people adhere to SOPs/ guidelines envisaged by the government to curb the COVID-19 pandemic.

Community members are once again requested to cooperate with the Police in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs/ guidelines/ protocols for the safety of the people. The special drive shall remain to continue throughout the districts of Kashmir Valley to strengthen the safety measures.(KNS)
