Srinagar, Jan 12 (KNS): A militant of JeM outfit and a cop were killed, while three army men and two civilians were injured in the ongoing encounter that broke out on Wednesday late evening in Kulgam district, police said here.

Quoting IGP, Kashmir zone police on its official Twitter handle said that a selection grade constable identified as Rohit Chhib and a militant of JeM outfit were killed in the ongoing encounter.

As per the Tweet, IGP also said that three army men and two civilians also got injured during the encounter, while operation was going on.

Earlier, encounter broke out between militants and security forces in Pariwan area of Kulgam. (KNS)
