Srinagar Oct 22 (KNS): J&K is facing an ugliest situation leading to suffocation and chaos amongst the public.
Reorganization of the full-fledged state was the biggest assault on the unique identity of J&K. Apparently, BJP Govt at Centre is punishing people under the garb of various anti people measures and by enacting different laws without any consultation or evolving a consensus. The reorganization led to suppression and oppression of people and not allowing them to raise their heads against suspension of the constitution in J&K done by the BJP Govt at Centre.
Senior Congress Leader and CWC Member Tariq Hameed Karra made these comments while addressing a largely attended workers meeting at the heart of the city in Dhobi Mohall area of Batamaloo in Srinagar District. Prior to the meeting Karra led a march of party workers from Ziyarat Batmallo to the meeting venue, where he was given a rousing reception by the party workers and locals.
Addressing the meeting, Tariq Hameed Karra said that Bharat Jodo Yatra of Rahul Gandhi has set a political narrative and developed hope, apart from the people across the country, he (Rahul Gandhi) is being looked as a savior of J&K people also from economic, cultural, religious and administrative oppression, suppression and repression of the present dispensation, which is hellbent upon to undermine the authority of democratic institutions, besides looting public money and adopt countess anti people and undemocratic measures for the lust of power.
Referring to the current situation, Karra said that one fails to understand as to why the elections are not being conducted in J&K. On the one hand the situation is congenial for holding Lok Sabha elections, but not good for ULB and assembly elections making it a mockery of democracy, which is very disappointing, reflecting the frustration and nervousness on the part of BJP. BJP’s policies and agenda is based on lies, deceit and a maneuver to keep people away from their democratic rights to ensure that there is no obstacle in ruling J&K directly from the Centre.
CWC Member slammed the BJP Govt for the current chaotic situation in absence of the democratic set up in J&K and said BJP has suspended the constitution while daring it (BJP) to adopt the same process in other States. You cannot take such drastic measures in other states, Karra told BJP Leadership and questioned how long people of J&K will remain disconnected and away from their democratic rights? How long J&K will be treated as a laboratory where BJP RSS is in habit of making experiments and then mislead people on reorganization of the princely state, abrogation of Art 370 and so-called development which is nowhere to be seen.
CWC Member also said the BJP Govt is looting the public by imposing taxes, especially toll tax, installation of smart meters, GST, CST and various other taxes leading to the severe business losses and economic backwardness of small businessmen and common people. He said Congress Party shall continue fighting for safeguarding public rights despite BJP’s vendetta and misleading politics.
Karra further said that Rahul Gandhi’s uncompromising fight against the loot of public money, suspension of constitution, assault on democratic institutions and vendetta politics is set to bring the Nation out of morass and confusion created by the BJP for the lust of power, he (Karra)took the opportunity of workers meeting to make an appeal to people to support Congress Party in its tireless efforts to put an end to BJP’s nefarious designs and hate politic.
JKPCC Vice President Nissar Ahmad Mundoo also addressed the meeting.(KNS)
