Jammu, June 6 (KNS): Congress has questioned the BJP over the continuance of toll plazas and proposed installations of more toll plaza besides enhancement of rates of toll charges, despite initial shedding of crocodile tears for public consumption.
Taking pot shots over BJP for its failures to honour the public commitments and issues affecting the common people, JKPCC has said that the ruling party stands exposed for its dual speak and standards on various issues as their own electorate oppose and rejected such actions but ruling party remains indifferent.
In a statement issued to KNS, JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that day in and day out such actions are being taken and the orders are issued against the interests and aspirations of the people which go contrary to the public commitments of the ruling party and its promises to serve the best interests of the people especially of Jammu region, which is likely to be named as region of toll plazas.
Where are those who had demolished the toll plaza at one of time and who had threatened to repeat the same this time too. Where are those firebrand and most powerful leaders of ruling party, hiding now, especially when during covid situations such anti people decisions are taken and consolidated.
The common people including transport industry are worst hit due to worst slow down of economy and other heavy taxations of various kinds and now the covid, - 19 situation but the BJP govt is fleecing the people by additional duties and taxes. The Jammu region is paying the price of wholesale and whole hearted support to the policies of BJP under a false hope and belief.
The youth are already the worst victims of the ignorance coupled with arrogance of the BJP leaders who are at the helm of affairs due to the huge mandate of the people of Jammu region.
Most of the recent decisions and developments have gone against the broader interest of the youth and the ruling party has been ignoring all genuine requests and protests by all concerned quarters. The overwhelming demand and all around protests over revocation of unreasonable and blatantly harsh, anti youth, SRO, 202, has no effect on the govt and govt. Everyday such orders are coming out which are unacceptable to the youth but BJP is only seen praising or mute spectator.
Calling upon ruling BJP to come clean and clear on all issues of public concerns, as it can not absolve itself of responsibility being the ruling party , Chief Spokesperson said that the congress party would continue to forcefully raise the concerns of the common people and the youth in every possible manner and create an atmosphere for the review, revocation and modifications of the anti people policies of the Centre govt and the UT administration(KNS)
