Demands restoration of full Statehood with constitutional guarantees to J&K

Srinagar August 5 (KNS):  Congress today held a peaceful protest march from Srinagar Party Office against price hike, GST, rising unemployment and demanded roll back of prices immediately.

The Party also demanded full statehood to J&K, terming the BJP Govt’s 5 August decision as unconstitutional, undemocratic and an insult to 120 crore J&K residents by using brute majority in the Parliament.
Senior Congress Leaders Tariq Hameed Karra (CWC Member), Former Minister Taj Mohi U Din, Former Legislator Bashir Ahmad Magrey, Surinder Singh Channi, PCC Office bearers, DCC Presidents and prominent Party workers participated and strongly condemned the GST, inflation and rising unemployment in the Country.
 
Party leaders and workers tried to march towards the Raj Bahawan to register their protest against the price hike, but they were prevented by the police and the main gate of MA Road Party headquarter was sealed.
Addressing the Party workers, CWC Member Tariq Hameed Karra lashed out at Modi Govt for unleashing tax terror in shape of GST, price hike on essentials besides rising unemployment in the country, demanding roll back the prices to arrest the economic crisis, which has badly affected the common people.
 
Karra also demanded restoration of full statehood to erstwhile J&K State and said BJP Govt has snatched the just rights of 120 crore people by using its brute majority. People of J&K won’t forget the insult they have witnessed by the Modi Govt they will continue to struggle for restoration of democratic rights.
 
370 was negotiated article and not granted, so BJP Govt had not authority to withdraw it unconstitutionally by using brute majority in the Parliament.
people of J&K shall never accept 5 August decision rather they will continue their struggle for restoration of full statehood to J&K, Karra added.
 
Karra said Congress Party believes in peaceful protest, it will continue to fight against the erosion of democratic rights of people and democratic institutions in the country, he said. 
 
Speaking on the occasion, Former Minister Taj Mohi U Din said BJP Govt is in a deep slumber, they cannot feel the pain of people of J&K, Congress Party shall continue to fight against discrimination and terror tax like GST and Price Hike, which is responsible for pushing people towards backwardness.
BJP Govt is doing everything to silence the Congress Party, but it will never happen, rather intimidation by BJP will further strengthen Party’s resolve to fight against the discrimination, misrule and mismanagement on the part of BJP Govt at Centre.
 
Among others who participated in the protest included PCC General Secretary Shameema Iqbal,AICC Members Abid Kashmir,Nissar Mundoo, PCC Secretary Shaheena Needa, Abdul Rashid Lone, Kadfeen Chowdhary, DCC Presidents Abdul Gani Khan, Imtiyaz Parray, Sahil Farooq, Fayaz Ahamad Mir,Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday, Umer Jaan, W.President Sgr Mir Ruvais, BDC Chairmen Mir Iqbal, Bharat Kumar Sudan, Irshad Budoo, Congress Leaders Javed Ahmad Magrey, Waseem Shalla Frontal Ogz, Amir Rasool, Dr.G.M.Bhat, G.A. Reshi, Gazi Ruhulla, Raja Waseem, Haleem Khan, Block Presidents and prominent party workers. They participants vowed to continue their struggle against terror tax, inflation, GST and various other anti-people measure on the part of Modi Govt.(KNS)
