Srinagar, Mar 14 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday launched an online ticketing system for entry to gardens across the Union Territory from Badamwari Garden.
The digital platform has been developed by the Floriculture Department in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Bank to enable visitors to book entry tickets for various gardens online.
Ministers Javed Ahmed Dar and Satish Sharma, Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq, Commissioner Secretary Floriculture, Gardens and Parks Zubair Ahmed and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
Officials said the initiative aims to simplify the process of purchasing garden entry tickets and improve visitor convenience.
Under the system, tourists and visitors can book tickets online through the Floriculture Department’s portal, eliminating the need to stand in queues at ticket counters.
The platform also supports multiple digital payment options including debit cards, credit cards, UPI and e-banking, allowing visitors to complete transactions through their preferred mode.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
According to officials, the system is expected to reduce cash transactions, minimise physical contact and help authorities manage crowds at popular gardens more efficiently.
The department said the initiative is part of efforts to modernise visitor services and introduce greater transparency and efficiency in managing garden entries.
Officials also acknowledged the role of J&K Bank in developing the digital payment infrastructure and enabling a secure ticketing platform.
The Floriculture Department said the online system is expected to benefit the large number of visitors and tourists who visit the gardens of Jammu and Kashmir every year.(KNS).
