CLUJ Tech-Talk on self care, building positive quotient

Jammu May 29:(KNS) Department of Dean Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu organised an online interactive discussion on Self care and building positive quotient during Covid- 19 for the student and teaching fraternity dedicated to the theme “Azaadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav”.This open discussion aimed  to bring together key Stakeholders to spread awareness   among   students   and     teaching   fraternity   in   response   to   the   Covid-19 outbreak and bring greater awareness by helping them to stay positive and healthy thereby answering  all related questions with regard   to   their   well-being. About 150 students and teaching faculty from Constituent Colleges, PGI Schools of CLUJ and other colleges participated in the event. Prof. Bechan Lal, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu inaugurated the event and appreciated the efforts of the Department for conducting a webinar  on a very relevant theme for young learners and faculty. He exhorted that in these challenging times the opinions of experts can create mass awareness on the subject and instill a positive attitude in society amidst a gloomy atmosphere.

Dr. Sushil Razdan, Senior and renowned Neurologist of Jammu and Kashmir and Ms Sunaina Tickoo founder and CEO Brainpreneurs Education Pvt Ltd. were the Keynote Speakers at the event. Dr. Razdan  stressed that youth have the power to create an atmosphere of faith and hope by helping those in distress and involving themselves in simple recreational activities which help us to stay positive. He elaborated that Exercise makes us feel better, look better and sleep better by easing stress and anxiety and increasing energy. These turbulent times are as hard for the patients, communities as well as the health care staff and there is a need to assess their fears, expectations and perceptions and also their problems.

Ms Sunaina Tickoo also dwelt on the need for practicing compassion, being kind and non Judgemental, Communion with Nature. She further reiterated having a purpose in life was important as  it not only helps one to find and do things that add meaning to one’s life, it also helps when things go wrong.

Dr. Twinkle Suri, Dean Students Welfare CLUJ in her welcome address exhorted that the Webinar is a part of the series of virtual events that the university is organising to rebuild the morale of our young learners and faculty and also offers a platform to clear their misconceptions , doubts and other health related issues.

Dean Academic Affairs, CLUJ, Controller Examinations, Deans of Faculties, Principals of Constituent Colleges ,Coordinators of several wings and Assistant Deans also graced the event.

The programme was moderated by Dr. Banpreet Kour, Associate Dean, Students Welfare, CLUJ who also gave a formal vote of thanks. Dr Revika Arora, Cultural Coordinator, anchored the event. Dr. Rakesh Gupta, GGM Science College was the tech host. (KNS)
