Claims of development in J&K by FM far from ground reality: JKPM

Jammu, Nov 27 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir People's Movement additional general secretary, Javid Ahmad on Saturday said that the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman recently visited Jammu and Kashmir for a photo shoot with BJP workers not with entrepreneurs as claimed by the UT administration.

In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Javid said that FM claimed that Article 370 was abrogated as per aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and people are happy with the abrogation move, but she doesn't know that only few followers of BJP are in favour of their move.

“Most of the people are against the illegal and unconstitutional move taken on 5th August 2019 by BJP government to fullfill their political agenda as they had promised to their followers for the political intrests of BJP,” the statement reads, adding that ground situation of Jammu and Kashmir is different from the claims of BJP and it's leaders as well as UT administration.

It reads that the people suffered a lot after the August 2019 move, no governance is seen on ground as the people of Jammu and Kashmir are protesting on roads for the basic amenities.

“Every day we are witnessing protests by daily wagers, casual labourers, need based workers, HDF workers, Anganwadi workers and most of them are at the verge of retirement and their services have not yet been regularised. When the BJP government last year issued DDC election manifesto which said that 70000 jobs will be provided to the unemployed youth of Jammu and Kashmir, where are these jobs when the unemployment ratio touches 22.1% and is higher than other states of India.”

The statement reads that BJP leaders are saying only jumla and are doing only photoshoot in J&K in the name of so called development which is far away from the truth.

Javid, as per the statement, said that the special status will get restored at any cost. “How long this aggressive approach of BJP will work, they will correct it's wrong doings very soon to save themselves from the people's wrath and this is possibly the most serious crisis in the Valley after the BJP government at the Centre abrogated Article 370 and bifurcated the state of Jammu & Kashmir into two Union Territories,” it reads.
