Srinagar, Dec 22 (KNS): Militants on Wednesday evening shot dead a civilian outside his residence in Edigah area of Srinagar, police said here.

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that the civilian identified as Rouf Ahmad Khan son of Muhammad Shafi Khan was fired upon by the unknown gunmen outside his home today evening, resulting in critical injuries to him.

The official said that he was immediately shifted to hospital, however, he was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. 

Meanwhile, Kashmir zone police on its official Twitter handle while confirming the incident said that militants fired upon a civilian in Merjanpora area of Eidgah today evening.

Police said that the injured was shifted to SMHS hospital where he was declared dead. “A case has been registered and investigation was going on,” Police said. (KNS)
