Kupwara, August 19:(KNS) Residents of Chalgund village of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday said that they are facing acute shortage of drinking water for over months in the high temperature.

Locals told to KNS over phone that they had approached the JAL Shakti Department Kupwara for water supply, however, they blamed that the authorities did not show any positive response.

The residents of the area complained that they are being forced to walk miles to fetch water in scorching heat as taps have run dry.

They also said, “There is no alternative source of water. We haven't had a drop of water for the past many months, “said a resident over phone.

Villagers appealed to the Jal Shakti Department to pay attention towards the area and restore the water supply without further delay.(KNS)
