Budgam April 15 (KNS): The Chairman of the District Development Council (DDC) Budgam, Nazir Ahmad Khan on Saturday visited Gurdwara Singh Sabha Beerwah to greet the Sikh community on the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi.
“The visit was aimed at extending his greetings and good wishes to the Sikh community on this joyous occasion. Chairman Nazir Ahmad Khan was welcomed by the members of the Gurduwara management committee and was accompanied by a team of district officials as well “ reads the statement issued by office of the Chairman DDC Budgam
During his visit, Chairman DDC Budgam interacted with the devotees who had visited the Gurdwara Beerwah . He also took a tour of the premises and inspected the arrangements made by the management for the smooth conduct of the festival.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Khan extended his warmest wishes to the Sikh community on the occasion of Baisakhi. He said in his speech that the Baisakhi festival symbolizes the spirit of brotherhood, unity and compassion, and reinforces the bond of communal harmony. “ Baisakhi is a time to be thankful for abundant blessings of nature” he said
Nazir Ahmad Khan told the gathering at Gurdwara Beerwah that the district administration was committed to ensuring that all communities celebrate their festivals in a peaceful and conducive environment.
The Chairman's visit to Gurdwara Beerwah was highly appreciated by the members of the Sikh community, who expressed their gratitude for his kind gesture.
