RAJOURI, OCTOBER 20 (KNS): Expressing serious concern over the loss of livestocks and horses, Apni Party Vice President and Former Minister, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today appealed to the LG Manoj Sinha to immediately release adequate compensation in favour of tribal families have lost over 40 to 50 sheeps/goats and 3 horses due to lightning strike in Thanamandi in Rajouri district.

In his statement to the press, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali said that “I am saddened at the unfortunate incident in which poor nomadic families have suffered huge losses and the Govt should accordingly provide them financial assistance.” 

He also demanded special medical treatment for the injured tribal persons.

He said that the Govt should implement the permanent tribal settlement policy in J&K for the financial assistance, and upliftment of the living standard of the tribal community.

He said that the Govt which claims to have launched many welfare schemes should ensure compensation for livestock losses and crop insurance so that the poor families can be helped in case they lose their financial support.

He however expressed his sympathy with the tribal family members. He said that the authorities should hold a proper assessment of the losses and accordingly the tribal families should be given financial aid.

He also demanded that the tribal families who live in dhoks should be provided assistance by the authorities.(KNS)
