Srinagar, Nov 30 (KNS): The Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashmir (CCIK) Tuesday urged the LG administration to announce tax holidays for traders and hoteliers, cut in power tariff, and sanitation fee so that business sectors can receive releif.

In an Executive Committee meeting today held under the Chair of its President Tariq Rashid Ghani, CCIK said business establishments in the Valley are facing slump in the winter as the purchasing power of the common Kashmiris have also reduced due to Covid19.

As part of economic releif to the traders, the CCIK said government should announce major relief for the economic sectors which have not come out of the slump due to continuous impact of Covid 19.

Ghani informed the members in the meeting that he has scheduled a meeting with Lt Governor Manoj Sinah to apprise him about the problems and issues the common traders and hoteliers are facing in the Valley.

The CCIK also expressed concern over the frequent power and mobile internet outage in the valley causing lot of hurdles for the businessmen and students.

The members also urged LG administration to keep ample stock of the essential supplies in the Valley in view of the snowfall predilections.

"We also urge the government to improve the road connectivity so that Srinagar-Jammu highway remains open during bad weather and commuters don't suffer," the members said. (KNS)
