Srinagar November 27 (KNS): Prominent Social and Political activist Basit Hayat Zaragr urged LG administration to bring snow clearance under MGNREGA work to generate livelihood among the labour's during the winter.
According to a statement issued to KNS, Basit Zaragr hayat said that the inclusion of snow clearance under MGNERGA will not only help the administration to clear the snow from the rural roads and link roads in time, but it will also serve the purpose of the scheme by providing means of livelihood to the local labour's.
He also said that during the winter, the labour's in rural areas have no means of earning livelihood to feed their families, the opportunity of snow clearance will help them to earn livelihood to feed their families.
Machines like JCBs hired by the government in rural areas of Jammu and Kashmir to clear snow are sometimes unable to reach out to the link reads due narrow space and also damage the roads, he said.
The LG administration should into look the demand and include the snow clearance under MGNERGA, to provide the livelihood to local labour's.(KNS)
