RS Pura Dec 07 (KNS): Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla on Monday undertook a door to door campaign in favour of Congress DDC candidate from Miran Sahib Block Chander Prabha at Panchayat Kirpind, Panchayat Simbal Camp. Prominent among those present on the occasion include Sr. Vice President Distt Rural Sarpanch Ravinder Singh, Pcc Sectrey Pawan Raina, Block Kuldeep Raj, Panch Inder Pal Kour, Panch Capt. In a statement issued to KNS reads, While campaigning in the area, Bhalla said that Congress has remained on the forefront for highlighting the issues of people of J&K, especially and he deserves to be extended full support. He highlighted the UPA-I & UPA-II governments who extended all sorts of help to erstwhile state government for addressing the issues of different sections of the society and remarkable development took place in Jammu and Kashmir during UPA regime at the Centre. He appealed to the people to exercise their franchise in favour of Congress candidate Chander Prabha, as Congress guarantees for peace and prosperity in J&K and the country. He said that Congress believes in secularism and always promoted equitable development. Urging people to reject the politics of hate, he stressed that Congress is the guarantee for development, peace and growth of common masses. He asked the people to defeat the designs of BJP. He said that ongoing DDC elections were the best opportunity to elect the true and honest representatives and appealed the people to ensure victory of Congress Candidates in Jammu and Kashmir with a thumping majority.

Former Minister maintained that it was the Congress party alone which has taken care urges and aspirations of the people without any discrimination. Bhalla assured that Congress Party will continue to work for the wellbeing of the people, despite the concocted and false propaganda unleashed by the BJP against the Party (Congress). Lashing out at the BJP Govt, he said that Congress Party won’t be cowed down by the anti-Congress rant by the BJP, rather it will further strengthen our resolve to fight for the people’s rights. People have realized as to what BJP has done since it assumed power at Centre and erstwhile J&K State and how it pushed people of J&K to wall for electoral gains. DDC elections were the best opportunity for the people to defeat the designs of BJP, who were desperate enough to grab power, he added and emphasized the people to strengthen the secular forces by casting their vote in favour of the Congress Party in these (DDC) elections, ensuring that the BJP and its divisive policies were defeated.

Bhalla also said Congress will continue to fight against the wrong policies of BJP and won’t compromise on people’s wishes and rights. Stating that the ongoing DDC elections are the best opportunity to correct the mistakes committed by BJP, he urged the people of J&K to join hands to defeat the BJP and its associates to ensure end to politics of opportunism and political vendetta unleashed by BJP against the party. Congress Party never compromised on people’s urges and aspirations for power, it will continue to work in that direction, besides safeguarding their interests,” Bhalla said. He said that people of Jammu and Kashmir will never forget as to how BJP victimized and punished them under the garb of development, besides abandoning them of their just rights in order to fulfil their agenda based on lies and deceit.He said people have rejected the divisive agenda of BJP in true sense, the DDC elections are bound to change the political scenario in J&K, which is being used as experiment ground by the latter (BJP) in order to fulfil their agenda. He appealed the people to come out in larger numbers to defeat the BJP for failing them (people) on all fronts.

“Your vote has the power to change the direction,” Bhalla told the largely attended gathering of people and appealed them not to miss this opportunity and rise to the occasion to elect the true and honest candidates in these elections.

He also cautioned them about the various players sponsored by BJP to impact the ongoing DDC elections, which was going to disappoint them and urged people to remain vigilant to ensure that the anti-people and divisive policies of saffron party were defeated, in the interests of better tomorrow.Congress believes in transparent and principle based politics, won’t compromise on the urges and aspirations of the people ,” Bhalla said and reiterated his appeal to people to strengthen the Congress by casting their vote in favour of its candidates in entire J&K, for the fact, Congress Party is capable enough to fight against the anti-people designs of BJP and other forces, which are hell bent upon to mislead and betray them for power, but this time they won’t be able to hoodwink them, as that, they stand fully exposed before the people.

"People of Jammu and Kashmir have been pushed to wall in the name of development by the BJP, while as, the latter was working to implement its political agenda, which is divisive and anti-people, responsible for the crisis and restlessness is J&K and across the country," Bhalla said. He said Congress Party is credited of gifting three tyre panchayat system to the Nation, aiming to involve people in the process of their own development at grass roots level," he said and blamed the BJP Govt. for harming the very foundation of the Panchayati Raj system by eroding their authorities to serve their vested interests. He said J&K people have witnessed ugliest situation. They must understand that democratic process was the only way to register their protest. So, they must come out in large numbers to cast their vote against the BJP."I would appeal people of J&K not to get swayed by false propaganda and tall claims and exercise their franchise against the divisive, wrong and anti-people policies of the BJP," Bhalla said and added that the falsehood and deceitful politics by BJP was the source behind restlessness among the people, which has to be defeated in the larger interest of well being of people and overall development of J&K.

Bhalla observed that that despite running a high pitch electoral battle in Jammu, the sidelined and internally displaced lot of BJP campaigners have failed to impress the electorate in the ongoing DDC elections. He said that the internally displaced leaders of BJP are resorting to mistruth mongering and fabrication of facts in order to get coveted positions in the central cabinet. “The self-anointed strategists of BJP who have landed in J&K are the last persons to comment on the political aspirations and aspiration of the people of J&K as they themselves failed to pick up the mood of people in their respective constituencies elsewhere in the country, where their political careers have been extinguished by the voters. Having been sidelined in the party, these people are leaving no stone unturned to vent their frustration in a bid to increase their political prospects back home,” he said.BJP has mastered the art of spreading lies. “Ever since BJP came to power it has been using institutions to further its own interests rather than that of the nation subverting all established constitutional norms and ethics(KNS).
