Urges central govt to start dialogue with Kashmiris

Srinagar, Aug 21(KNS) : People's democratic Party's cheif Mehbooba Mufti Saturday said the that Congress party has saved this country but for the last several years it seems from the present government that is all set to break into parts on communal and religious lines.

Talking to media here at Kugam, the PDP chief said that Jammu Kashmir's accession to India is not because of the BJP government but because  of Jawaharlal Nehru who was a secular leader who gave special status to J&K and maintained our identity. "If there was a BJP government then, I don't think Jammu and Kashmir would be a part of this country today," she said.

Mehbooba warned the central government to restart talks the way Atal Bihari Vajpayee did and restore Article 370 otherwise it will be too late.

“don’t test our patience and change your ways while you still have a chance. Remember how Vajpayee initiated the peace process. You must restart talks with Kashmiris and return whatever you have looted, " she added.

The PDP chief also drew comparison from the Taliban and warned the Centre to take lessoon on how the militant group could throw out powerful county from Afghanistan and urged the government to hold dialogue with Kashmiris(KNS).
