Bharat Jodo Yatra successful in fighting hatred, fear in society: Rahul Gandhi

Jammu, Jan 24 (KNS): Congress leader and Member Parliament Rahul Gandhi Tuesday said Bharat Jodo Yatra (BJY) which was against hatred and fear being spread in the society and against unemployment and inflation has largely succeeded to fight the same.

Addressing a press conference in Jammu, he said there is no room for hatred in the country as Congress believes in spreading the message of love.

He said through Yatra they have largely been able to fight the disastrous narrative of hatred spread by the BJP in the country.

Gandhi said there is economic inequality in the country, while media and other institutions are being controlled by a few people and this Yatra is against all these things.

“The Yatra is against the fear, the voice of India which is being suppressed and India which is being divided by pitting one caste against the other and one religion against the other.”

He also said he met a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits yesterday and they expressed that they are being disrespected and used for political gains and requested him to raise their issues in the parliament.

Gandhi also said the army is doing its job exceptionally well and they don’t need to be provided proof of anything.

He also said the party doesn’t appreciate the statement of Digvijay Singh which he said was a ridiculous statement.

Notably, Digvijay Singh had yesterday questioned surgical strikes conducted in 2016 on militant camps across the LoC in Pakistan.

Gandhi said they don't appreciate Digvijaya Singh's personal views. “His views are outline views. We are absolutely clear that the armed forces do their job exceptionally well and they do not need to provide proof of that,” he said. (KNS)
