Beerwah Apr 05 (KNS): Residents of Beerwah on Wednesday held protest against dearth of doctors at Sub-District Hospital Beerwah and appealed to higher authorities to make suitable arrangements at the health centre so that patients do not suffer forthwith.

Locals told KNS that the doctors in Hospital are being transferred to other places without taking the local requirements into account. They said some doctors who
were managing the affairs of the hospital were transferred to other, resulting the hospital non-functional.

The protesters alleged that when patients are brought to hospital for treatment, they are being referred to srinagar hospitals or even private hospitals as due to non availability of medicos at the health facility. They appealed to higher authorities including district administration to intervene into the matter and resolve the issue for the larger interest of people living in catchment areas.

CMO Budgam, Dr Mohd Ayoub when contacted, said that no doctor have been transferred from the hospital but have only been sent to other facilities on a temporary basis.

"The doctors will be back at the said hospital soon," CMO added. (KNS)
