BDO Mawer conducts Cleanliness drive

Handwara , 20 May (KNS) : An extensive cleanliness drive under the Clean India program was conducted in the Panchayat Halqa Qalamabad and Audoora areas of Block Mawer Qalamabad in north Kashmir's Handwara on Saturday.
 
The Block Development Office in Mawer Qalamabad took the initiative to organize a cleanliness drive, which was inaugurated by the dedicated Block Development Officer, Asif Amin. The program witnessed the enthusiastic participation of various stakeholders, including PRIs, the esteemed Handwara Qalamabad Police, Sarpanch Qalamabad, Sarpanch Audoora, Panchayat Secretary Qalamabad (Tahir Andrabi), Panchayat Secretary Audoora (Naseer Ahmad), block officials, and the supportive general public.
 
The participants actively engaged in collecting various forms of waste, including dung, waste materials, single-use plastic such as bottles, wrappers, and packaging materials. Their diligent efforts ensured the proper disposal of these items, while also undertaking extensive cleaning of numerous other locations.
 
BDO Asif highlighted the collective responsibility held by all citizens in maintaining clean surroundings for the sake of general health and hygiene. He emphasized the importance of actively encouraging friends, youth, and the general public to participate wholeheartedly in the Clean India Drive.(KNS).
