Baramulla Police Busts Illegal Timber Smuggling Bid; Two Arrested, Timber Seized in Pinjoora

 Baramulla, June 20 (KNS): In a significant action against illegal timber smuggling and forest-related offences, Baramulla Police recovered a consignment of illicit timber and arrested two persons involved in its preparation and transportation.

 
Acting on credible information regarding the concealment of illegally felled timber, a police party conducted a raid at the residence of Mohd Ameen Yatoo R/o Pinjoora. During the search operation, illicit timber measuring approximately 35–40 feet in aggregate length was recovered and seized on the spot in accordance with law.

Rashid Rather S/o Kamal Rather R/o Pinjoora
 
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation has been initiated.
 
Efforts are underway to ascertain the source of the illicit timber and identify any other persons involved in the commission of the offence.
 
Baramulla Police remains committed to protecting natural resources and taking strict legal action against individuals involved in illegal felling, smuggling and transportation of timber. (KNS)
