Baldev Singh Raina extends greetings on Guru Gobind Singh’s birth anniversary

Srinagar, Jan 09 (KNS): PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industries Chairman, S Baldev Singh Raina on Sunday extended greetings to the people on the birth anniversary of revered Sikh saint, Guru Gobind Singh.

According to a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Raina said that he gave his life to uphold the values of justice, equality and freedom for all and because of his founding of the Khalsa Panth, Sikhs have a unique identity and a spiritual journey.

“Without the Guru, Sikhs wouldn't have a distinguished identity and culture something we are extremely proud of. You will never find an example in the whole history to prove the fact that it never repeats itself, where the 9-year-old son inspire his father to sacrifice himself for the cause of Kashmiri Pandits. You will never find a father like him who sacrificed his 4 sons,” the statement reads.

It reads that in whole history if you look back there cannot be a warrior like Guru Gobind Singh who instructed his soldiers never to fight anyone who is unarmed, respect women, children and elderly and never to attack anyone behind his back.

“His arrows used to bear little gold. He was a great philosopher far ahead of his times. He was also a great writer whose literary writings like Choupayi Sahib will remain immortal.”

Quoting Guru Gobind Singh, the statement reads, “Recognise the human race as one and who has no faith in himself can never have faith in God. The greatest comforts and lasting peace are obtained when one eradicates selfishness from within.” (KNS)
