Azad, his wife condole demise of Pandit Bhajan Sopori

 
Srinagar, June 02 (KNS): Expressing shock over the demise of eminent santoor maestro, Pandit Bhajan Sopori, senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad and his wife Shameem Azad condoled his demise and expressed sympathy with the bereaved family. 

In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS) Azad said that it was shocking to learn about the sudden demise of eminent santoor maestro and ace music composer Pandit Bhajan Sopori ji. 

“He was family to us. Shameema and Sopori Sahib were like siblings. Both took music lessons from Bhajan ji's late father Pt. Shambhoo Nath Sopori ji,” he said. 

Meanwhile, as per the statement, Shameema said that she was speechless as she not only lost a great mentor but a dear brother. 

“My long association with Guru-bhai in the field of music was more than four decades. I am short of words to express how deep a void I feel. Bhajan ji will live on in my memory,” she said. (KNS)
