Augment power infrastructure, address power woes in Kokernag: Abdul Rahim Rather

Srinagar, December 30 (KNS): Apni Party senior leader and District President Anantnag Abdul Rahim Rather on Wednesday urged the administration to address the power woes in the district especially at various areas of Kokernag constituency.

In a statement issued to news agency-kashmir news service, Rather expressed deep disappointment over the complaints of erratic power supply received from various parts of district Anantnag. He stressed on the power development department to augment the power infrastructure for redressal of the frequent curtailments which has added to the miseries of the locals in this winter.

“The additional power cuts which are giving a tough time to the inhabitants of Kokernag area are due to the overloading of Buchoo grid station which requires to be augmented on an urgent basis. Similarly the damaged transformers at many places especially in Arhama should be replaced with a new one on priority basis” he demanded.

Apni Party district president Anantnag observed that the people in district are suffering for want of interruption free electricity at least to brave the biting cold. “The government should address the sufferings of people who are otherwise also facing difficult circumstances in absence of an elected government,” he added.(KNS)
