Attendents face hardships as Lone Nurse Posted In medical and surgical ward: KTA

Srinagar ,03 April (KNS):  Expressing concern over the dilapidated condition of hospitals, Kashmir Trade Alliance said that the matter would be taken up with the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Ajaz Shahdhar President, Kashmir Trade Alliance, termed the lack of infrastructure and necessary equipment in the hospitals of the Valley, especially in the SMHS Hospital, Srinagar, as playing with the lives of the patients.

In a statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS) he said that the President was adamant about the posting of only one nurse in the Medical and Surgical Emergency ward of Hospital and administration and the authorities were directly endangering the lives of the patients.

"The Glucometer meter is not available and there is no equipment to hang glucose and other medicines along with the beds, due to which the attendants have to hang glucose bottle in their hands as a human hangar" Shahdhar Said

 Ajaz shahdhar said in a questioning manner that the authorities and hospital administrators never tire of announcing that crores of rupees have been released to the health sector, but even the most important things are not available in the hospitals at the ground level.

He Said only one nurse is available for the two wards, which is not only a source of contention for the nurse, but also a major problem for the sick and the needy people. He said that the matter would be taken up with the Provincial Commissioner Kashmir soon so that hospitals especially SHMS should be improved.
