Jammu, Mar 16 (KNS) : Union Minister Ramdas Athawale on Monday termed the recent attack on National Conference president Farooq Abdullah as "unacceptable" and urged extremist elements to shun violence.
Talking to reporters here, the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment as per news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) condemned the incident, asserting that no individual has the right to take another's life in a democracy.
"He has always supported strong ties between Jammu and Kashmir and the rest of India. Political differences may exist, but democratic values must be respected," he added.
He urged all groups involved in violence to abandon the path of aggression.
