Srinagar, June 21 (KNS): Addiction Treatment Facility (ATF) of district hospital Bandipora in collaboration with Social Welfare Department Bandipora on Tuesday held an awareness programme on Nasha Mukht Bharat in Ganastan block of district Bandipora.

According to a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), the awareness camp was held at BDO office in Ganastan block, wherein officials from ATF, Social Welfare Department and PRIs among others participated.

The statement reads that the awareness camp is first camp of the series of awareness camps, which are going to be held at block level across the district. 

Councillors from ATF Showkat Shafi and Junaid Gayas also spoke on the occasion and made participants aware about the treatment facility for the victims of drug addiction at district hospital Bandipora. 

It reads that on the occasion a resolution was passed, wherein a block level committee for Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan was constituted for every block.

“The committee will work in close coordination with ATF, Social Welfare Department and the concerned block and will hold awareness camps on drug de-addiction in the concerned blocks,” it reads.

The statement added that the committee will also make people aware about treatment facility for the victims of drug addiction at DH Bandipora. (KNS)
