Srinagar/Jammu, Mar 08 (KNS): Several job aspirants registered protest against APTECH Ltd. a firm hired by Jammu & Kashmir Service Selection Board for conducting examinations, in twin capitals of J&K. At the occasion several protesters were detained by police in Jammu.

In winter capital Srinagar, scores of JKSSB job aspirants assembled here in Press Enclave to protest against the contract given to APTECH Ltd by JKSSB for conduct of various exams. The protesters demand immediate withdrawal of the contract and appealed to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to probe the previous paper leak scams in Kashmir.

The protestors alleged that APTECH Ltd. has been involved in numerous scams outside J&K which includes UP, Rajasthan, Assam and others. “The role of APTECH Ltd. is apparent everywhere. Why the company was given contract in J&K despite things unboxed already”, protestors told media.

In Jammu hundreds of JKSSB job aspirants gathered outside Dogra Chowk and tried to take out a march against the APTECH Ltd. and demanded strict action against those having role in awarding the contract to the said agency.

The protestors raised slogans against the JKSSB for hiring APTECH Ltd. the company which has been blacklisted in 2019 for the conduct of computer-based tests in several states.

The protesting aspirants were chanting slogans like “APTECH go back” and “We want Justice”. They said the future of J&K youth seems bleak after infamous and blacklisted firms are being given contract to conduct written examinations”, the protestors said.

They alleged that a good chunk of aspirants are about to cross the age limit due to failure of J&K administration who despite known to the fact have awarded the contract to a blacklisted company.

Police swung into action and used lathicharge to disperse the protestor. Several protestors at the occasion were detained by police and lodged in nearby police stations.

Meanwhile several mainstream political parties criticized the government for giving contract to a blacklisted company and demanded “immediate roll back” of the contract, besides an action against officials involved in awarding the contract to APTECH Ltd. (KNS)
