Says department making efforts to promote tourism in different countries

Srinagar, Dec 11 (KNS): Secretary Tourism Jammu and Kashmir, Sarmad Hafeez on Sunday said the number of foreign tourists has increased after international travel restrictions were lifted post-Covid-19 period.  


Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function here, Hafeez said the arrival of international tourists have started to increase in Jammu and Kashmir as international travel restrictions were lifted.

He also said government was making efforts to promote Kashmir tourism at the international level for which they were visiting different countries through travel-trade initiative.

“I hope this year many foreign tourists like key enthusiasts, skiers, snow boarders and adventure skiers will arrive in Jammu and Kashmir. I hope international tourism will also do well here,” he said. 

He added the department was trying very hard to keep Jammu and Kashmir vibrant during winters and for that many events and winter festivals are being organised at different tourist places here. 

“In coming days bird-watching festival is being organised in collaboration with the Wildlife Department as many migratory birds have arrived here from different countries. Besides, Christmas festival and winter carnivals will also be organised,” he said. (KNS)
