Army pays tributes to soldier killed in road accident in Parimpora Sgr 

Srinagar, Feb 06 (KNS): The army on Sunday paid rich tributes to an army soldier, who was killed in a road accident during a road opening operation near Parimpora Fruit Mandi in Srinagar yesterday. 

According to a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a defence spokesperson said that army paid rich tributes to Sepoy Sanjay Kumar Bhat, who made the supreme sacrifice yesterday at Fruit Mandi.

“In a solemn ceremony at BB Cantt, Lt Gen DP Pandey, GOC Chinar Corps led all ranks in paying homage to the gallant soldier on behalf of the proud Nation,” reads the statement.
  
It reads that Late Sepoy Sanjay Kumar Bhat, while carrying out road opening operation on NH 1A near Fruit Mandi, Parimpora was hit from behind by a civil truck. “He was immediately evacuated to a civil hospital and was later shifted to 92 Base Hospital. He, however, succumbed to his injuries.”

It reads that he was 43-year-old and had joined the Army in 2006. “He belonged to Village Mishriwala Camp of Jammu and is survived by his wife and two daughters.”
            
It reads that the mortal remains of Late Sepoy Sanjay Kumar Bhat will be taken for last rites to his native place, where he would be laid to rest with full military honours. 

“In this hour of grief, the Army stands in solidarity with the bereaved family and remains committed to their dignity and wellbeing,” it reads. (KNS)
