Army marks Vijay Divas in Uri, organizes volleyball championship

Uri, Dec 19 (KNS): Army's Baaz battalion, Kalapahar Brigade on Saturday organised volleyball competition to mark the occasion of Vijay Diwas for the local population of Uri and nearby villages of the tehsil Uri.

According to an official a total 06 teams participated in the competition. Finals was played between Nawla Star and Nawla team. Final match was very contesting and awesome. With nail biting contest, Nawla Star won the championship with 02-01.

Due to ongoing pandemic the young star felt very excited and happy to come out from their homes to be part of the volleyball championship. The excitement and the gesture shown by the youth was awesome which shows the friendly attitude of the public towards Indian Army.

Commander 12 Infantry Brigade was the chief guest for the prize distribution ceremony. The conduct of this competition for the local youth proved a mile stone in boosting the campaign of winning hearts and minds of the local population. (KNS)
