Army, DH Handwara organized blood donation camp in Handwara

Handwara, July 03 (KNS): Army’s 17 Infantry Brigade in association with District Hospital Handwara on Friday organized a blood donation camp in Nowgam Handwara of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

During the camp, over 50 pints of blood was donated and handed over to the authorities of DH Handwara. Several army personnel and civilians took part in the camp and donated blood.

The camp which was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Handwara Nazir Ahmad Mir was attended by military officials, Deputy Medical Superintendent DH Handwara Dr Aijaz Ahmad, Dr Javed, Dr Rameez, in-charge blood Bank Handwara Samiullah Muslim and other staff members of Blood Bank Handwara.

Deputy MS Dr Aijaz Ahmad while speaking at the occasion, stressed upon the general public to come forward and take part in blood donation camps.

“There is a scare in minds about blood donation but in reality it is beneficial for the donor as well as whom it to be donated”, he said. (KNS)
