Raqeeq Ahmed Khan criticizes UT administration for repressive policies against social movements

Jammu, Oct 17 (KNS): Apni Party’s Youth Wing on Sunday commenced District Rural Youth meeting at Machine Domana to strengthen the Party’s political activity at the grassroots.

The meeting was organised by Partap Singh Jamwal under the leadership of State Vice President, YAP Raqeeq Ahmed Khan, Rural District President JKAP Pushp Kumar Uppal, Provincial Organizer Secretary Shanker Singh Chib, and Provincial President Apni Student Union, Anuj Manhas.

Addressing the gathering, Raqeeq Ahmed Khan condemned the repressive policies of the UT administration against social movements.

He said that the employment crisis in the erstwhile State is growing day by day.

“J&K is home to the total unemployed youth in the country. During the COVID-19 lockdowns, a large number of people lost their jobs,” he said.

He further said that “It is a fundamental right of youths of the country that they question the democratically elected government about employment.

Meanwhile, Pushp Kumar Uppal said that to hide the data on unemployment, the labour ministry discontinued its employment survey, and now the government is clueless about the joblessness in the country.”

Shanker Singh Chib expressed apprehension that the BJP could create a rift between Hindus and Muslims to dilute the movement against unemployment. Therefore, he asked the youths not to indulge in any communal or casteism issues, and keep employment and education as their priority.

While speaking at the gathering, Partap Singh Jamwal criticized the attempt by the authorities to mislead people with regard to good days instead of addressing the suffering of the general masses.

“The bureaucracy is responsible for alienation and hopelessness among people which has kept the general masses away from governance,” he said.

Provincial President Apni Student Union, Anuj Manhas highlighted the issues of students whereas Bhanu Partap Singh Goria also addressed the gathering.

Prominent youth leaders also joined on the occasion and they include Vikas Singh Chib, Sawarn Singh, Vrinder Kumar, Shemsher Singh, Bunty Kumar, Sukhdev Kumar Sharma, Raman Kumar, Ram Sawarn, Pankaj Sharma etc. (KNS)
