Apni Party organises Provincial Women Wing meet

Srinagar, Dec 03 (KNS): Apni Party Provincial Women Wing on Thursday organised a provincial level meeting at the Party Central office in M2 Church Lane, Sonwar.

The meeting was presided by Party Provincial President Kashmir Mohammad Ashraf Mir besides whom Provincial President Women Wing Dilshad Shaheen was also present.

Furthermore, Party Leader Advocate Mir Imaad, Provincial Vice President Shaista, Coordinator Women Wing and party Media Convener Sujada Bashir, Provincial Secretary Afroza Khan, Mrs Shakeela District President Budgam, Arifa District President Kulgam, Firdousa District President Kupwara, Gulshana Parveen Vice President Kulgam, Nighat Zonal President Kulgam, District President Ganderbal Rafiqa, District Secretary Ganderbal Kulsum, Rafiqa Coordinator Srinagar, Joint Secretary Srinagar Jameela Khan, Saroj Khan Organizer Srinagar, District Secretary Mumtaza, District Vice President Srinagar Nighat & Vice President District Srinagar Hajira.

On this occasion party Provincial President Mohammad Ashraf Mir said that women representation in the political process remains imperative but for long their immense contributions in J&K politics has been kept in the background.

“The contribution of women folk can never be overlooked as they play a vital part in building a strong and prosperous society. Therefore, it is highly vital that their representation is equitable in all the socio-economic and political spheres. Apni Party also remains committed for its promises made with the women folk of J&K and our Women Wing is persistently working on grassroots level for the resolution of their grievances,” he said.

Mohammad Ashraf Mir impressed on the women leaders and party workers to make requisite efforts for strengthening its party cadres via involving women folk in the political process in order to augment their valuable suggestions for the betterment of J&K.

Speaking at the meeting, Apni Party Provincial President Women Wing Dilshad Shaheen also said that they will fight for the rights of the women and their political empowerment in J&K so that the emancipation of women can be carried out in an efficient manner.

“Political representation of women in J&K has always remained minimal and no efforts were made to bolster women empowerment by the preceding governments. This is the reason that women folk remain extremely demoralized and alienated as their pressing pleas and genuine demands often go unaccounted,” she said.

On this occasion the members present in the meeting thanked the party leadership for organizing the meeting and also pledged to further strengthen the party at grassroots level. (KNS)
