“These NHM workers worked during the covid19 and put their lives at risk. Yet the Govt has not accepted their genuine demands for their continuation in the service,” said Raqeeq Ahmed Khan when the police stopped the Youth Wing while proceeding towards the chowk area.

The police detained the Youth Wing leaders to prevent their march toward the chowk. Prominent among those who were detained include State Vice President Youth Wing, Raqeeq Ahmed Khan, State General Secretary Abhay Bakaya, State Youth Coordinator, Sunny Kant Chib, Youth President Jammu District, Shivam Choudhary, youth leader Abhinav Kumar, Shoaib, Sahil Singh Rajput, Aftab Khan, Arun Kumar, Sandeep, Shalu Devi, Anil Kumar, Harpeet Kumar, Sunita, Mukesh Singh and others. Meanwhile, Abhay Bakaya also spoke on the occasion and condemned the policy of the Govt towards the temporarily serving employees in different Govt departments.

“They work at minimum wages for years and if they demand their continuation or regularization in the service, the Govt must adopt a humanitarian approach so that these people (NHM employees) can be observed in health departments which are under staff in many hospitals,” he said.

He said that the Youth Wing will continue its protest against the anti-youth policies.(KNS)
