Srinagar, February 14:(KNS) Apni Party District Kupwara Cadre on Monday organised a blood donation camp at Kupwara hospital where numerous participants donated blood.

The blood donation drive was organised by District General Secretary Kupwara Bilal Arif along with District Coordinator Dr. Tajamul, Youth leader Nisar Bhat & Women Leader Tahira.

Speaking on this occasion, Bilal Arif said that donating blood is a prestigious act that exhibits our humane and caring nature for one another.

"Thousands of precious lives are saved every day with the help of generous blood donors. Their stature remains very high in the society as they embody important traits of compassion, mercy and humanity. This humble beginning is to encourage healthy persons to get involved in blood donation," he said.

Arif said that blood donors could also enjoy the possible health benefits of low cholesterol and blood pressure.

"Any healthy person can donate blood after an interval of three months that also helps the donor to rejuvenate and create new cells.  However, there exists a great dearth of blood required which is almost close to 1.4 crore units. It shows the huge difference between the availability and need for blood in hospitals," he added.

Bilal asserted that 20 points of blood were donated on the occasion to the hospital situated at Kupwara hospital.

"Such drives will be organised in impending future also and the next such program shall be organised at Handwara hospital," he concluded.(KNS)
