Srinagar, Apr 23 (KNS): Senior political leader Usman Majeed Tuesday said that Apni Party is aimed to expose exploitative politics of regional parties who hoodwinked people of Jammu and Kashmir over unachievable slogans in last 70 years.

In an exclusive interview to Kashmir News Service, Usman Majeed said that Apni Party is a newly launched political party in the political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir and is gaining ground, and winning hearts of people with the passing of each day.

"Apni Party will put its best effort in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. It is a new party with a fresh ideology. There were challenges in the beginning, but people have now understood our vision," Usman Majeed said.

On fixture of alliance in wake of elections, he replied that alliances have been a part of Indian politics since 1947. "Every political party has connections with New Delhi, and it is the central government with whom the issues of the people of Jammu and Kashmir can only be taken up. Therefore, labeling any political party as A or B team of New Delhi is futile and pointless," he said.

He said due to lack of political vision and wisdom the Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) was destined to split. "The constituents of PAGD were included in the forum to gain political mileage, but due to lack of political vision the alliance could not reach to the destination. It has been broken mid-way and people were aware of its conclusion," he added. (KNS)
