Any action by the J&K UT administration against media persons, under the present circumstances, uncalled For: Soz

Srinagar, April 23 (KNS):Former Union Minister and senior congress leader Professor Saif U Din Soz on Thursday has said, i express my concern over the harassment that some journalists have received from the Administration for the usual coverage of events which forms a routine for the media persons.
According to statement issued to KNS Soz said, What Gowhar Geelani, Masrat Zehra and Peerzada Ashiq have reported, falls within their professional duties.
All the three journalists seem to have performed their professional duties and the FIRs will not stand test in any court of law or even before the Press Council of India.
Can a photo shoot of a funeral procession by Masrat Zehra, for instance, make her liable to be punished under law?
One expected encouragements to these journalists for performing their duties, even in these hard times of Covid-19.
The Administration should have appreciated the fact that these journalists were performing their duties while they face many hardships in the field,
The UT Administration must also appreciate that these very journalists highlight the good works of the Administration before the general public.
I urge the UT Govt. to withdraw the FIRs and invite the media representatives for a discussion on the situation.(KNS)
