Srinagar, March 17 (KNS): Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid Srinagar on Friday reiterated its call urging authorities to release Mirwaiz Umar Farooq from house detention before the month of Ramadan.
The Anjuman said that as the holy month of Ramadan is approaching and hoper that Mirwaiz’s house detention will come to an end and he will be allowed to perform his duties towards the people.
It also said he was today again prevented from performing his religious duty to offer Friday prayers at Jama Masjid Srinagar.
It expressed hope that in the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, their sentiments will be taken care of by ensuring release of Umar Farooq. (KNS)
