Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid, Mirwaiz condole demise of Peer Shams-ud-Din

Srinagar, Nov 14 (KNS): Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid Srinagar on behalf of the organisation and its president Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq has expressed deep grief over the demise of a leading religious personality, Daa’ee and founding member of Tableeghi Jamaat in Jammu and Kashmir Haji Peer Shams-ud-Din Sahib who passed away on Friday.

In its condolence statement, the Anjuman paid rich tributes to the late Peer Shams-ud-Din Sahib for his long, selfless religious, da'wah, preaching and social reform services.

Peer Sahib spent his entire life in spreading and propagating the teachings of Islam and played an unforgettable role in creating a religious mood and understanding in the whole of Kashmir especially in Kupwara area.

The Anjuman on behalf of itself and Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir termed the demise of Peer Shams-ud-Din as an irreparable loss to the religious circles.

Expressing heartfelt condolences and sympathy with the family and followers, relatives and friends of Peer Sahib, the Anjuman prayed for Jannat-ul-Firdous to the departed soul and forbearance to the bereaved family members to bear the irreparable loss.

Meanwhile, a high-level delegation of the Anjuman comprising Mufti Ghulam Rasool Samoon, Imam of Jama Masjid Srinagar, and Moulana M S Rehman Shams visited the deceased’s home in Kupwara and extended condolence and solidarity on behalf of the incarcerated Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir to the bereaved family. The delegation members also offered Fateha prayers in favour of the deceased Peer Sahib. (KNS)
