Anjuman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq pay glowing tribute to Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani

Srinagar, Nov 15 (KNS): Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid Srinagar on behalf of its incarcerated head Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq has paid glowing tributes to the renowned saint and scholar of Islam, Hazrat Peeraan-e-Peer Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA) on his urs.

The Anjuman in a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS) termed the historic religious, da'wah, preaching and reformative services of Hazrat Mehboob-e-Subhaani (RA) towards Islam as an invaluable and unforgettable asset for the Muslims.

The Anjuman said effects of the great spiritual revolution, created through his character, deeds, and his sermons of goodness, can still be seen and felt around the Islamic world.

“The solution to many problems faced by the Muslims today lies solely in following his teachings and our pious predecessors of Islam sincerely in accordance with the instructions of Qur'an and Sunnah,” the Anjuman said.

It said that on 9 Rabi-ul-Thaani, as a centuries-old tradition, Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq would visit the Khanyar shrine and address a large gathering of people there.

“On the special occasion, the Mirwaiz would shed light on the great spiritual personality and his accomplishments and valuable services, however, due to his continuous detention since 5 August 2019, it was not be possible this year too, which is extremely painful and disturbing for the people of Kashmir,” the Anjuman said.
