Anantnag July 17:(KNS)   Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested Four drug peddlers in Anantnag and recovered contrband substance from their possession.
     Police party from Police Station Anantnag during naka checking at Larkipora Anantnag intercepted two persons namely Bashir Ahmed Mir @Bashir Haji S/O Abdul Khaliq Mir resident of Sadoora and Zahoor Ahmed Shah S/O Abdul Majeed Shah resident of Keeri Dooru during their search about 400 Grams of Charas and 5 Grams of Heroine was recovered from their possession. The accused were arrested and contraband seized.

   Moreover SHO Srigufwara apprehended two drug peddlers during Naka at Sakras crossing along with about 900 Grams of Charas. The accused identified as Mohd Ashraf Sofi S/O Mohd Ismail Sofi and Javid Ahmad Sofi S/O Abdul Gaffar Sofi both the residents of Guree Bijbehara were arrested and contraband seized. 

   In this regard case FIR No. 331/2021 under relevant sections of the law stands registered in police station Anantnag and case FIR No.63/2021under relevant sections of the law stands registered in Police Station Srigufwara respectively.

   Drug dealings in Anantnag District have put our community at the risk of harm and eventual criminalization. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers are aimed to end this menace of drug addiction. It should reassure the community members and encourage them to come forward with any information pertaining to drug peddling in their neighborhood.(KNS)
