Amit Shah to lay foundation stone of GMC at Handwara on Oct 24

Handwara, Oct 21 (KNS): In yet another big boost to the health sector of J&K, a new medical college is coming up at Handwara in Kupwara district of Kashmir as the foundation stone will be laid on October 24 by the Home Minister, Amit Shah.

Sources told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his visit to valley will ceremonially lay the foundation stone of Government Medical College at Handwara on October 24.

They said that he will lay foundation stone in the presence of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Member Parliament Lok Sabha Mohammad Akbar Lone, Chief Secretary J&K Dr. Arun Mehta, minister of state science and technology, earth science Dr Jitendra Singh, Chairman DDC Kupwara Irfan Sultan Pandithpori, and advisor to Lieutenant Governor Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar.

Notably, Amit Shah will arrive in Srinagar on Saturday for a three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir and and is scheduled to address a public rally in Jammu.

Sources said that he will also chair security review meetings, address panchayat members as well as political workers amid a wave of targeted attacks that left 11 civilians dead in the region this month. (KNS)
