All six missing persons rescued after 3 days from Margan Top in Kishtwar: DC Anantnag

Srinagar, Feb 25 (KNS): All six persons, who had gone missing around 3 days ago near Margan Top in Kishtwar district, were rescued on Friday, officials said here.

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that six persons who had gone missing while travelling from Kokernag to Warwan via Margan Top were rescued safely today morning.

He said that major rescue efforts had been jointly launched by district administration Anantnag, Army and police along with teams of SDRF and mountain rescue to trace these missing persons.

Meanwhile, deputy commissioner Anantnag, Piyush Singla told KNS that all six persons were rescued safely with joint efforts of civil admin, police, army, SDRF and mountain rescue team.

"We had received information on February 23 at around 7:30 pm that six persons who had left for home by foot from Warwan to Kishtwar via Margan Top and they had gone missing. As we already know that for the last three days weather was extremely inclement, which hampered the rescue operation. But today all of them were rescued safely," he said. (KNS)
