Ak-47 rifle, pistol recovered from OGW’s house in Kupwara: police

 Srinagar, Nov 30 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday recovered an Ak-47 rifle and a pistol along with magazine and bullets from the house of an Overground Worker (OGW) who is absconding since last many days


The police in a statement said that “in a joint operation, Kupwara Police and Army recovered arms and ammunition from the house of an Overground Worker (OGW) who is absconding since last many days,”.

“During the preceding night, acting upon reliable input, a joint search operation was launched by Police and Army 6 JAKRIF in village Panjitara of Police Post Taad Police Station Karnah where many houses of suspected persons were searched in presence of locals of the area,” the police said.

“During the search of a house belonging to  one Mukhtar Hussain Shah son of Syed Akbar Shah, 01 AK Rifle, 01 AK  Magazine, 22 live ammunition of AK,  01 9mm Pistol 9mm and 01  Pistol Magazine has been recovered from the house," the police said.

 He said a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigations taken up. (KNS)
